School Bus Transportation Safety Tips and Guidelines
The Penn-Harris-Madison Transportation Department is committed to supporting your child's education by providing the best possible service with a safe and reliable transportation system. The safe transportation of students to and from school is a shared responsibility between the Transportation Department, the bus driver, the parents, and the students. We are committed to providing safe vehicles and qualified drivers, along with school bus safety education to students and parents. School bus safety also depends on student behavior. This brochure shares information with parents and students about safety guidelines for students. Take a moment to review the safety tips and guidelines so that the Transportation Department can ensure a safe and enjoyable year for all bus riders.
General Information and Forms
Student transportation information including bus numbers and schedules may now be obtained by calling your school office directly.
If you would like to request a change in your child’s assigned bus stop, please fill out this “Request for Bus Stop Review” form and submit your completed form to the Transportation Department. Changes cannot be considered until September 24, 2014. Please review criteria and policies located on this form prior to submission.
You can use this Add/Change/Withdrawal Form for student(s) new to Penn-Harris-Madison, for current student(s), for a change in address, student transfers, withdrawals, or for requesting alternative site information. The completed form should be submitted to your school, not the Transportation Department.
Important Note: Transportation is provided to and from a maximum of two (2) locations: home and one other approved site with verified contact information on file. Parent/Guardian work locations are prohibited. All stops must be within the boundaries of the school the student attends. In the interest of keeping our students safe, we can no longer accommodate complex schedules involving multiple stops.

Parents appreciate new GPS bus tracking system
P-H-M's new GPS bus tracking system has received very positive reviews from parents. New this year, parents can create an account to use a computer or a smart phone to track the progress of the approaching school bus for pick-up (morning) and drop-off (afternoon).

If we routed your child and they will not be riding the bus, please inform your student’s school directly. This information will help us account for all of our students and keep them safe.
